Alice Merton releases ‘No Roots’ after joining forces with Sony Music – and you can listen to it now on the Fantasy Premier League playlist.
After recently achieving platinum status in Germany with ‘No Roots’, Merton places her trust in Sony Music – who have partnered with the singer’s original Paper Plane Records with immediate effect.
The label, Columbia, will be working the artist via the in-house International Marketing Department across Europe, while New York based independent label Mom+Pop will lead all activities in the US and Canada.
Philip Ginthör, CEO Sony Music GSA says: “Alice Merton has not only landed a massive hit, but is also a versatile artist with a distinct handwriting. Me personally, as well as our whole team, are very much looking forward to working together.”
‘No Roots’ reached top positions on iTunes, Spotify, Shazam and Hype Machine. The song, which has already reached platinum status and was #2 in the official single charts in Germany, is on its way to conquer the rest of Europe with its intruding sound and message in no time.
Raised in Canada, finishing high school in Germany, then moving on to England with her family, Alice has gotten quite used to packing and unpacking boxes. With her debut single ‘No Roots’, she describes the life of having had many different homes, but comes to the realization that her home was never in one place.
