Blackfield share remix of ‘Under My Skin’ featuring Brian Molko

Blackfield follow up releasing their most recent studio album For The Music last December by sharing a remix of their latest single ‘Under My Skin’.

The new version of the track features Placebo mastermind Brian Molko, who serves up a dark, brooding take on the track.

“I got no words to describe how happy I am to have Brian Molko on board”, says Blackfield‘s Aviv Geffen. “He is one of my biggest influences. Placebo remains one of the most powerful bands I have ever heard. I was one of their opening acts a few years ago and I knew that at some point we would record something together. ‘Under My Skin’ fits perfectly to Brian’s edgy and glammy vocal.”

Blackfield began as a collaboration between multi-instrumentalist Steven Wilson and Israeli pop star Aviv Geffen. After years of mutual admiration, the pair met to discuss a set of concert appearances in 2000 and, further drawn together by their similar interests in the classic rock albums of the ’60s and ’70s, wound up composing their first song under the Blackfield moniker.

Two studio records and a live album recorded in New York City followed between 2004 and 2007, however Wilson’s commitments to his other projects saw Geffen take a lead role in the band for their third full length release Welcome to my DNA in 2011. Wilson took a backseat as a contributor for all subsequent releases bar 2017’s Blackfield V, where he returned as an equal partner in the making of the record.

Their first new music after a three year hiatus, For The Music was Blackfield’s most ambitious and expansive album to date, melding their psychedelic sonics to a perfect pop sensibility whilst simultaneously carrying a serious, and at times dark, undertone.
