Brighton & Hove Albion, based in Sussex, were founded in 1901 and won promotion to the Premier League for the first time this season after finishing runners-up in the 2016/17 Championship campaign.

Before then, the Seagulls and its die-hard fans had experienced many ups and downs throughout the years, most notably between 1997-2011 when the club went through a long battle with the local authorities in order to get their current AMEX Stadium built in Falmer.

During those years – having had their original Goldstone ground sold by the club’s board at the time – Albion had to play for two years at Gillingham’s Priestfield Stadium before moving to what should have been a temporary home at the Withdean in 1999.

Twelve-long years later and the club finally had its new home, which opened its doors to Championship football after the club lifted the League One title a few months before.

Other notable achievements for the club include reaching the 1983 FA Cup final when they were defeated in a replay by the mighty Manchester United, two additional third tier championships in 1958 and 2002, plus two fourth tier titles in 1965 and 2001.

Skint Records – acquired by BMG in 2014 and based in Brighton – is a dance music record label owned with a roster of talented artists including, Dave Clarke, Fatboy Slim, Jacob Plant, X-Press 2 and more.
