Scottish singer-songwriter, Callum Beattie shares new single ‘Nothing Hurts Like You’, out today via 3beat/Universal Music.
On poignant track ‘Nothing Hurts Like You’, Callum bares it all as he shares the emotions that he went through following a difficult break-up, a decade-long relationship with his hometown girlfriend.
Callum found salvation by packing up and moving to Berlin where he started writing and recording again. He says, “I’d never even been to anywhere in Germany before, so it was pure escapism, and a way to forget. But it’s such a creative place, I knew I’d be inspired by such an artistic place”.

Beattie’s effortless ability to lyrically evoke relatable scenarios into catchy, heartfelt songs is evident on ‘Nothing Hurts Like You’ and is led by Callum’s distinctive, heartfelt vocal.
Beattie explains: “’Nothing Hurts Like You’ is a song about being addicted to someone. Like a drug you keep going back to no matter how much you try and break away.”
‘Nothing Hurts Like You’ comes after Beattie’s latest releases ‘Easter Road’, ‘Without You’ and ‘Connection’ as well as Beattie’s well-received EP’s We Are Stars (2017) and Miracle (2018) – which included his moving single ‘Some Heroes Don’t Wear Capes’ that was a tribute to his Father.
From Edinburgh to London to Berlin and back again, Callum’s new material is a collection of songs clawed from the raw stuff of existence, nostalgic patriotism and bleeding love. His debut album is set to be released early 2020.
