Circa Waves mark return with album announcement and ‘Movies’ single

Indie rockers Circa Waves today mark their highly-anticipated return with the new track ‘Movies’, taken from their new studio album ‘What’s It Like Over There?’ – out April 5 2019 via Prolifica Inc./PIAS.

Exclusively premiered on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show, the anthemic ‘Movies’ will appeal to the band’s long-standing fan base, featuring an instantly catchy lead guitar line complimented by Kieran Shudall‘s trademark vocal.

The album itself contains various tracks which see the Liverpudlian four-piece expand and progress their sound, but what remains constant is Circa Waves’ ability to create the kind of infectious music that is propelling them towards the top tier of British music.

‘Movies’ is the group’s first new release since their second album ‘Different Creatures’, which peaked at #11 in the Official UK Album Charts in 2017.

Recorded in just one month, and renewing their blossoming co-producing relationship with Alan Moulder (Foals, The Killers), ‘What’s It Like Over There?’ is an album that’s creatively unshackled and refuses to stay still.

It fuses the visceral thrill of rock music with a slick pop sound, its themes of modern ennui, emotional fragility and all the inside-outs and upside-downs of relationships making it a record that could only have been made now.
