Cuckoolander unveils ‘Mercury’ from upcoming EP

Holly Hardy – aka Cuckoolander – has shared her new slice of perfect lo-fi power pop in the form of the new single ‘Mercury’ – and you can listen to it now on the Fantasy Premier League playlist.

Taken from her forthcoming ‘EP_02‘ released April 6 on Vroom Vroom Recordings, Holly says of ‘Mercury’: “It’s about the power of the mind. I took inspiration from ancient Alchemy which says “For Mercury is the spirit, sulfur is the soul, and salt is the body.” – Paracelsus.”

‘EP_02’ is a lush landscape of Cuckoolander’s dreamy world, one of wistful and personal tracks that grab you by the heart and make you want to take to the dance floor.

Multi-instrumental Cuckoolander, who will be supporting Tom Grennan on his March UK tour, met Charli XCX when she joined her all-female backing band, although she emerged from uni (she studied at Liverpool’s prestigious Institute for the Performing Arts) as a session drummer, this spot was already taken so she auditioned as the bass play, which she got and they set off on tour. During their downtime, Hardy would work on her music on the tour bus.
