Drum & Bass producer Culture Shock shares latest entry in the ‘Sequence Series’

Culture Shock, aka James Pountney, continues his upward trajectory with the sixth entry in his acclaimed Sequence Series – ‘Renaissance’.

After a string of dancefloor focused singles, the track mirrors his 2018 Hottest Record ‘There For You’ by bringing his musical side to the forefront.

Coming from arguably drum & bass’ most ground breaking producer, ‘Renaissance’ is a vocal driven, melodic masterpiece which sounds just as comfortable on the radio as on a club system.

2019 is already shaping up to be a pivotal year for the London producer, as in May he brings his Sequence Series to Room 1 of the iconic Fabric nightclub.

After being introduced to D’n’B by London Pirate Radio in the mid 90’s, Pountney set up his own home studio and begun to record his own music in the mid-2000s, attracting the attention of RAM Records‘ CEO Andy C and signing with the label in 2006.

Creating tracks that attest both time and production standards, there’s no denying that James’ alias has become a household name not only across drum & bass, but also the daytime radio airwaves.

With Beats1 mogul Zane Lowe already comparing Culture Shock’s music to Pink Floyd’s album ‘Dark Side of the Moon’, his future endeavours are about to lift him to the anticipated next gear of his burgeoning career.
