DMA’s show off ‘In The Air’ from ‘For Now’

DMA’s have unveiled ‘In The Air’, the new single from their forthcoming album, ‘For Now’, released April 27 – and you can listen to it now on the Shoot Music – New Releases Playlist.

The Sydney trio made a huge impression with their 2016 debut album ‘Hills End’ – via Infectious Records, which became a Gold-selling smash at home and a word-of-mouth hit here in the UK.

Now the band have raised their game with the gloriously uplifting ‘For Now’, which features previous single ‘Dawning‘ and production work from The PresetsKim Moyes.

‘Dawning’ demonstrated that the DMA’s are brimming with confidence, with its crowd-pleasing hook and rich melodies made for the kind of timeless indie anthem that bands rarely seem to write any more.

That purity and command of songcraft is also on vivid display throughout the triple j premiered ‘In The Air’ – which is also a new addition to the Fantasy Premier League and Soccer AM: New Music playlists.

“Last time round, we were still working out what kind of band we want to be, and we still are,” says Johnny Took.

“We still have that jangly rock’n’roll aspect to it, but it’s also matured in other ways. It feels like a natural progression for the band.”

DMA’s – Tommy O’Dell, Matt Mason & Jonny Took – returned to the UK last winter as the main support for The Kooks‘ arena tour and will do so again following the album release for performances at Liverpool Sound City (May 5) and Neighbourhood Weekender (May 27).
