The Tractor Boys are currently struggling at the bottom of the Championship and, after 17 games, are currently 5 points from safety on 11 points. Despite the current poor form, the Blues have not competed outside of the top two tiers of English football since 1957-58, and a drop to the third tier would therefore come as a bitter disappointment.
Town last appeared in the Premier League during the 2001-02 season, when they were relegated on the final day. The disappointment of relegation had followed an extraordinary previous season which saw the Blues finish 5th in the Premier League, consistently challenging for a place in the Champions League, and finish just four points behind second-placed Arsenal.
Despite only turning professional at the relatively late point of 1936-37, Ipswich have celebrated a league title, an FA Cup victory and an unlikely UEFA Cup triumph against Dutch side AZ in 1980 during their history.
With former boss Paul Hurst managing just one victory in his 15 games in charge, new manager Paul Lambert remains undefeated in his first two games at the helm. The Tractor Boys will welcome the international break, treating it as a chance to regroup, replan and prepare for a charge out of the Championship relegation zone. You can get behind the Blues to do just that by following the Ipswich Town FC Fan Playlist.
