Echo & the Bunnymen have released a new track from their forthcoming album, ‘The Stars, The Oceans & The Moon‘.
‘The Somnambulist‘ is a new Echo & the Bunnymen track that stands proudly amongst those from the band’s undisputed imperial period – three and a half minutes of perfect soaring melody and poetic lyrical melancholy, exactly as it should be.
Echo & the Bunnymen‘s new track is available on all streaming and download platforms now.
‘The Somnambulist‘ is one of two new Echo & the Bunnymen songs recorded for their forthcoming album – ‘The Stars, The Oceans & The Moon‘ (released October 5).

As previously revealed, this album sees Echo & the Bunnymen return to their peerless back catalogue to reinterpret thirteen of their most beloved songs with ‘strings and things’, alongside new tracks ‘The Somnambulist‘ and ‘How Far?’
Recorded at The Dog House Studios with co-producer Andy Wright, Echo & the Bunnymen hand-picked the selection of tracks for the album from their majestic, four-decade spanning archive.
Mac said of the new versions, “I’m not doing this for anyone else.
“I’m doing it as it’s important to me to make the songs better. I have to do it.”
The album is released through BMG on October 5, 2018 as limited 2 x picture disc (only available from the band’s online store), a limited luminous double vinyl (HMV and indie shops only), standard 2 x heavy weight vinyl, cassette and CD.
It will be available digitally everywhere.
Echo & the Bunnymen follow up May’s sold-out tour of the UK with a series of UK tour dates this autumn to coincide with the release of ‘The Stars, The Oceans & The Moon‘.
They are also due to play with The Libertines at Sharabang – their one-day festival at Joss Bay in Broadstairs, Kent – on September 9.
Following the UK tour, they will play shows all across Europe and the States.
