In continuation of what’s been one of the most prolific creative streaks of their 15 year career, Editors have announced the release of their best of album Black Gold.
The record is set to be released on October 25 via Play It Again Sam.
Black Gold will include 13 tracks from their six studio albums, alongside three brand new offerings: ‘Upside Down’, summer festival anthem ‘Frankenstein’ and the gothically dramatic title track ‘Black Gold’ – out today.
Listen to ‘Black Gold’ by Editors on the Official F1 Tracks playlist on Spotify.
The band will also be embarking on a 27-date European and UK Greatest Hits tour in early 2020, which will see them play shows in Birmingham, Manchester, Dublin and Glasgow, with a landmark performance at London’s SSE Arena Wembley set for Friday February 28.
Six studio albums into their existence and Editors sound as energised as ever. The unveiling of ‘Frankenstein’ in the summer followed on from the release of Blanck Mass Sessions a deconstructed electronica-infused version of 2018’s Violence – back in May.
A sold out UK tour last year culminated in an acclaimed show at O2 Academy Brixton followed a string of festival performances, including supporting The Cure at BST in Hyde Park and headlining the Werchter Classic, topping a bill that also contained heavyweights Kraftwerk and The National.
