Premier League title rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur go head-to-head at Wembley on Saturday in the first FA Cup semi-final.
Antonio Conte’s leaders Chelsea face London rivals Spurs at Wembley Stadium in the first of the semi-final fixtures as they also battle it out for the Premier League title. The match will be shown live on BBC One, with coverage starting from 4.50pm on Saturday, April 22. Kick off is at 5.15pm.
Despite Spurs’ poor form at the national stadium, Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be hopeful after winning their last eight consecutive matches.
Said Pochettino at apre-match press conference:
“For us it’s a final and we need to show that from the first moment of the game. We need to play aggressive, with our philosophy and mentality”
Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal will battle Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City a day later on Sunday, for a place in the final. Both coaches need to progress through these matches in order to boost their respective seasons.
Wenger on his side’s chances of defeating City:
“I expect to go to the final. I’ve played 11 semi-finals in the FA Cup so that means it’s a great experience and it’s always special… We are focused and highly motivated. Maybe not at maximum confidence but it is a good chance to show we want to to go the final.”
Sunday’s match will kick off at 3pm and be shown live on BT Sport 1, with coverage starting at 2:30pm.
