Fab Five Added to Premier League Music Playlist

Five new tracks have landed on the Premier League Music Playlist as the football after the international break for Matchweek 4.

The number one addition this week comes from one of the biggest acts on the planet, Sam Smith. With over 12 million global album sales, a #1 UK album, five #1 UK singles and an array of impressive awards, including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, three Brit Awards, three Billboard Music Awards, four Grammy’s and six MOBO Awards, among others, they come no bigger than Sam.

Four other new releases include Mercury Award nominated artist Loyle Carner, US trio X Ambassadors, critically acclaimed English songwriter Richard Walters and big new track ‘Drop Down’ by Lunice/Le1f/Sophie.

Premier League Music sets the mood for the weekend’s matches as it allows you to hear the sounds that fans are enjoying at stadiums – whether you’re at the Etihad Stadium for Manchester City vs Liverpool, the Liberty Stadium for Swansea City vs Newcastle United, or watching the action from the comfort of your own home.

Working alongside Shoot Music, the Premier League have brought together the beautiful game and music for the 2017/18 season. Every Friday, brand new releases and fresh sounds from artists who love the Premier League will be added to the playlist.

Additionally, England’s top flight have also launched two other playlists – Fantasy Premier League (#FPL) and 25 Seasons (#PL25) – to soundtrack the world’s favourite fantasy football game and to celebrate a quarter-of-a-century of the Premier League.

The playlist represents Premier League brand values – Ambitious, Inspiring, Connected and Fair. This unique playlist reflects the bold and invigorating nature of Premier League football, combining brand new music artist releases with the contemporary sounds of the season.
