Singer-songwriter and Fulham FC Women’s player Chelcee Grimes spoke to Goal.com about the challenges of balancing her music and football careers, looking back on her 2018 highlights and more as part of the leading football website’s Goal Playlist series on YouTube.

The Liverpudlian also spoke her love for the Reds, her favourite Anfield memory and the surreal moment when one of her Kop heroes liked a post on her Instagram.

RCA’s latest pop sensation is causing a storm wherever she goes. Having taught herself to write songs from YouTube tutorials, Chelcee went on co-write singles for Kylie Minogue, Dua Lipa, The Saturdays and Olly Murs before focusing more on her own singing aspirations.

Along with balancing her two careers, she is also fronting a new series for BBC Sport. Chelcee Away feature the 26-year-old taking some of her friends from the world of music along to FA Cup games for the rest of the season. You can watch the first episode, featuring Chelcee and Tom Grennan at AFC Wimbledon‘s 4-2 Fourth Round win against West Ham by clicking here.

Her most recent single ‘I Need A Night Out’, is one of her most personal songs and is her up-tempo take on a typical heartbreak song.

The track derives from a personal low in Chelcee’s life, following a breakup and a simple text to a friend saying that she just needed a night out to forget about all her problems. You can listen to the single now on the Goal Music Playlist on Spotify.
