Donae’O chats to Goal.com about his favourite memories watching Arsenal, working with Calvin Harris on his latest single and more as part of the leading football website’s Goal Playlist series.
The UK producer, rapper, singer and songwriter also spoke about where he stood on the “Wenger Out” campaign that hung over former Gunners boss Arsene Wenger during the final years of his tenure at the Emirates, with the Frenchman announcing his departure from the North London club after 12 years at the end of the 2017/18 Premier League season.
A pioneer of UK street sounds, Donae’O has been regarded as a rarity, a multifaceted all-rounder in a now flourishing UK urban scene.
From anthems like ‘Black’ with JME and Dizzee Rascal, or his own global classic ‘Party Hard’, to producing and featuring on Giggs’ hits ‘Lock Doh’ and ‘Linguo’, he continues to push musical boundaries across the world.
Donea’O teamed up with modern day British DJ and producing icon Calvin Harris to put together his latest single, ‘Chalice’, which dropped back in October.
It’s the first track taken from the North West Londoner’s forthcoming album – his first new record since 2011’s ‘Indigo Child’ – slated for release in 2019. It will feature production from the likes of Diplo, Take A Day Trip (Shek Wes) and guest appearances from PnB Rock and more.
‘Chalice’ has been streamed over one million times on Spotify, and you can now listen to it alongside a host of other tunes from football supporting artists on the Goal Music Playlist.
