UK artist, MC and rapper Linguistics spoke to Goal.com about his love for the Cottagers, his latest EP release and more as part of the leading football website’s Goal Playlist series.
The South-London based rapper also spoke about the importance of Fulham keeping hold young starlet Ryan Sessegnon, with the 18-year-old England Under-21 international likely to attract interest from other Premier League clubs in the January transfer window.
Linguistics started out as a hip-hop MC, however, while at University in Bristol he became heavily involved with the D&B scene, with his career taking a huge leap in 2012 when he began working with legendary DJ and producer, Friction.
The duo would go on to perform at some of the most prestigious festivals around the world including Glastonbury, Global Gathering and Pukkelpop.
His new EP ‘Self-Medicated’ shows a more reflective direction – a frank and honest personal insight rarely seen so far. Co-produced with childhood friend Charlie P (Jorja Smith, Maverick Sabre) amongst others, the record documents the rapper’s struggle with depression and anxiety.
The first taste of the EP was the single ‘Run’, which you can now listen to along with a whole host of other banging tunes on the Goal Music Playlist on Spotify.
Linguistics has also added 11 tracks to the Fulham FC fan playlist, which you read about by clicking here.
