Up-and-coming rapper Osh talks to Goal.com about his love for the Gunners, which footballer he’d love to meet and more as part of the leading football website’s Goal Playlist series on YouTube.
The 23-year old also gave his thoughts on players leaving the Emirates Stadium to join rival clubs, with the most recent example brought up by Osh being Alexis Sanchez‘s move to Manchester United in January 2018.
Hailing from South London’s musical hub – Croydon – Osh’s musical career has been long in the making.
Growing up within his Church choir, he would go on to learn how play the piano and the violin. Teenage years would see him explore his sporting talents, leading to a football scholarship that saw him pursue sports to degree level, but this could not quell his love for music.
Pursuing his music career in the summer of 2017 with his debut single ‘Will You’, and a series of Instagram freestyles, the release of viral hit ‘My Yé Is Different’ – his own take on Burna Boy’s ‘Ye’ – in October last year saw Osh gain international attention. It lead to him signing with Columbia Records and the track officially being released as a single the following month.
The tracks showers the singer-rapper showcase his commanding vocals and effortless charm, with the freestyle throwing social media into meltdown, with the question on everyone’s tongue being, “what is Yé?”
