Following on from the recent announcement of her debut album Silver Eater, Grace Lightman release her new single ‘Aztec Level’.

For the stunning new video Grace once again enlisted the help of director Alex Lightman and creative director Edwin Burdis [Arctic Monkeys, Wild Beasts, Franz Ferdinand, Alexis Taylor] who worked alongside Lightman to create the striking visual.

The song itself is Grace’s narrative on vacuous art and those who make it and the Silver Eater is presenting her take on this through mimicking. The one-shot video, where nothing really happens, is to reflect this in its entirety by being a piece of visual art with essentially no meaning.

Speaking on the video further, Grace explains “We wanted to create something ceremonious for people to read into and begin to follow – almost like a cult, but that could mean absolutely nothing. Much like the process of the song’s writing; words picked from a hat that listeners have connect and interpret their own way.”

Grace recently announced her debut solo record which has been a work in progress for the past few years and her vision is finally realised in the form of Silver Eater.

The album has been a collaborative effort between Grace as well as Ben Baptie [previously mixed & engineered for Moses Sumney, Young Fathers, Puma Blue, Lady Gaga] who makes his producer debut on this record and creative partner / co-writer Patrick J Pearson.

Between the three of them they’ve created a truly unique record that encapsulates Grace’s surreal pop driven vision and unique artistry.
