London’s brightest rising star Hamzaa today shares her new single ‘Write It Down’.
Describing the track, Hamzaa says “Writing things down. letting them go, so that my words spoken, can never again, be misunderstood.”
‘Write It Down’ follows the release of her Phases EP and recent sold out Scala headline show, which saw a special guest appearance from friend and collaborator Wretch 32. Hamzaa is ready to round off a momentous 2019 by heading out on tour across the UK with Mahalia, and is also set to appear on DJ Spoony’s new Garage Classical album alongside the likes of Lily Allen, Paloma Faith, Ms Banks and Raleigh Ritchie.

Named by the Guardian as ‘one to watch in 2020’, she’s hotly tipped to be one of the biggest breakthrough artists of next year.
At just 20 years old, she has played sold out shows, including London’s Scala, received critical acclaim (including a 4 star review from the Evening Standard), supported Anne-Maire, played BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend.
Hailing from Hackney, Hamzaa is a 20-year-old singer, songwriter and producer whose music adds a modernist edge to a sound rooted in classic soul. She began learning the piano as a child and later began to write her own songs to try to convey and to understand her feelings. Her standout single ‘Breathing Pt 2’ featured Wretch 32 and Ghetts, as Hamzaa’s fanbase of artists and appreciators continues to grow.
