Singer, songwriter, producer, rapper and multi-instrumentalist, Happi unveils ‘Bel-Air’ – his first release on Polydor records since recently signing to them.
Produced and written by Happi, ‘Bel-Air’ is a slice of uplifting Afrobeats bringing sunshine to even the cloudiest of days.
The accompanying 90s inspired lyric video, created by the North London musician himself, pays homage to the legendary US sitcom, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and the happy-go-lucky mood that its protagonist Will Smith encapsulates in the show.

“I created Bel-air with the hope that it would bring light to my own little gloomy world.” says Happi, “At the time, I was overrun with decisions based around whether I would continue to be an artist or just focus on production. I had a lot of voices telling me to do the latter.
“‘Bel-Air’ was my way of rebelling. It was my way of showing that I could create the music and regardless what I had been told, people would connect with my voice and what I had to say. Even with the lyrics being in different dialects, I knew the vibe was undeniable when I made it. It was special.”
‘Bel-Air’ follows the independent release of Happi’s Boy and His Imaginary Friend EP (in 2017), 3:15 EP (in 2018), and ‘Wonder Woman’ (in 2019), which saw Happi garner support from BBC Introducing alongside editorial titles ranging from Nylon through GRM Daily to Notion magazine.
27-year-old Happi is a new and vibrant talent emerging from the UK Scene. Hailing from the heart of North London, he has multiple strings to his bow. Not only does he write, sing, produce, rap and play multiple instruments (including guitar, bass guitar and piano), but he also creatively directs all the accompanying art and video content to his music, and (prior to signing to Polydor) executed all the marketing and promotional campaigns for his past releases.
