Calling all Quins fans! Bring The Stoop matchday experience to your home by streaming and following the brand new Harlequins Official Playlist on Spotify.
The South West London side are a founding member of the RFU and one of the biggest names in English Rugby Union, with their distinctive quartered shirt among the most iconic in the sport. They also have a storied history having played at the home of Rugby Union, Twickenham Stadium for almost 60 years until acquiring their current ground, the Twickenham Stoop – situated a stones throw away from their former home – in 1963.
Heading into the final few months of the 2020-21 Gallagher Premiership Rugby season, Quins are in contention for a place in the Play-offs come June, and will be hoping that the likes of club legend Danny Care, fly-half Marcus Smith, England internationals Joe Marchant, top try scorer Alex Dombrandt and club captain Stephan Lewies can take them to the Grand Final for the first time since 2012, the first and only time that they have been crowned Champions of Premiership Rugby. Among other honours, they are the joint most successful side in the history of the second-tier European Rugby Challenge Cup, winning the competition three times between 2001 and 2011.
Whilst many fans won’t be able to see the closing stages of the current campaign in person, Quins have put together the perfect soundtrack to get you in the mood and provide the closest experience possible to a matchday at The Stoop with the Harlequins Official Playlist on Spotify.
The playlist brings you all the experiences that you would usually expect to hear inside The Stoop to your own living room. Everything kicks off with ‘All Of The Lights’ by Kanye West, which signals the players coming out of the tunnel, with Sam Fender‘s ‘Play God’ soundtracking the announcement of the teams for the game.
The sounds accompanying every try and conversion scored by Quins come from AC/DC, Flo Rida, The Score, DNCE, The Fratellis, Fire and Lemaitre, whilst the dead air that a stoppage in play brings are filled with tunes from Heavy and Skinny Beats.
Classic tunes added to the playlist include fan favourites from Wolfmother and Led Zeppelin along with iconic tracks from Manfred Mann, The Prodigy, The Clash and Fatboy Slim.
The Harlequins squad have also had a chance to chuck in some of the dressing room’s favourite tracks for getting pumped up on gameday including songs by Bob Marley, Cardi B, Endor, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Daft Punk and more.
The playlist is capped off by some of the biggest new tunes and sporting anthems courtesy of Shoot Music, which is updated on a weekly basis and featuring anthems from some of the world’s biggest musicians such as Foo Fighters, Royal Blood, Becky Hill and London Grammar.
