Hayden Thorpe shares ‘Earthly Needs’ from debut solo record

Hayden Thorpe has shared latest single ‘Earthly Needs’, taken from his debut solo album ‘Diviner’, which is out today.

The track landed on the eve of his solo piano performance show at London’s Brilliant Corners.

Diviner is a deeply emotional album: lyrically generous in its candid tone and self-awareness, the melodies resonant with sense memory.

Listen to ‘Earthly Needs’ by Hayden Thorpe on the Official Fantasy Premier League playlist on Spotify.

The album feels like a startling departure from Thorpe’s previous work with Wild Beasts and also unlike anything else being made at the moment.

Critical acclaim for Diviner has been overwhelmingly positive, with Q Magazine handing the record four stars and saying that it is “A consistently wonderful LP. It’s the best fresh start Hayden Thorpe could have asked for.”

MOJO also gave the album four stars, commenting that “Diviner came out of post-band convalescence and a spell of recalibration, yet for all the intense, cocooning introspection in these songs, Thorpe is obviously ready to face the world alone”
