London based duo iLL BLU, aka James and Darius, are here to see out the summer in style with the sizzling new single ‘Chop My Money’, premiered by DJ Target at BBC Radio 1Xtra, featuring Krept & Konan, Loski and ZieZie.
Having previously made waves having produced Mostack’s ‘What I Wanna’ which went silver, iLL BLU this time called in a powerful line-up of UK hip hop’s hottest risers including Krept & Konan, who were the first artist to chart two albums simultaneously in the Top 10 in the UK Album Chart in OCC history with ‘7 Days & 7 Nights’.
On top of this, ZieZie has achieved success with recent smash hit ‘Fine Girl’, an iLL BLU production that has since charted silver, and 19-year-old Loski has already garned millions of YouTube views and caught the attention of the likes of Drake and Stormzy with tracks such as ‘Cool Kid’.
iLL BLU themselves are no strangers to success; emerging as an integral part of the UK Underground scene, the duo have since been praised far beyond the scene, DJing to crowds from Denmark to France to Fabric and securing themselves as frequent faces in the UK Top 40 Charts.

‘Chop My Money’ features dancehall influences and production sharp enough to cut through that summer haze, combined with suave, fluorescent lit visuals.
iLL BLU explained, “This is a big track for us personally as it is the start of a new chapter on our musical journey.
“We have sampled a UK club classic Fish Go Deep‘s ‘The Cure & the Cause‘ this tune means a lot to us as it is the tune that inspired us to create iLL BLU years ago.
“Krept & Konan are sick – they are rap Veterans. We worked with them when they jumped on Mostack‘s ‘Liar Liar‘ that we produced.
“We are massive fans of Loskie – he is the nu-skool don, and getting our boy ZieZie to deliver a wavy hook on this track is a special moment for us. Hope you enjoy.”
Having originally made their name on the UK funky scene, iLL BLU have evolved and shown an ability to master whatever they put their hands to.
The duo has achieved substantial success remixing everyone from Hot Chip to Naughty Boy and Sam Smith, as well as turning their hands to a more house-inflected production style on the likes of previous single ‘Tribalist’ featuring Icelandic newcomer Glowie.
No longer are James and Darius simply two friends sharing a love for music, their tried and tested formula has received support from the likes of Rinse, BBC Radio 1Xtra, FACT, Mixmag, and more!
