LA Priest shares the single ‘Beginning’, taken from the all-new soundtrack to FIFA 21 – featuring tracks by more than 100 artists from 23 different countries.
Following on from his recent album, GENE – released earlier in 2020 – the brand new release of ‘Beginning’ is joined by a remix of the track, for which LA Priest has enlisted Totally Extinct Enormous Dinosaurs (aka T.E.E.D.).
The Italo-disco inspired remix expands the original version, taking it on a decadent, cosmic journey. In its original form, ‘Beginning’ has also made its way on to the ever popular FIFA soundtrack for its latest edition, a compilation of tracks heard by millions every day.

GENE was released to widespread acclaim earlier in 2020, arriving four years after the iconoclast variously known as Sam Eastgate, Sam Dust and LA Priest thrilled the world with the cosmic pop of his debut album Inji.
The album – the namesake of a brand-new analogue drum machine created especially to make the record by Sam – is the product of his nomadic travels across California, Wales and England’s south coast.
The album’s lead single ‘What Moves’ reached playlist status at both BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6Music, it was later remixed by the legendary Belgian duo, Soulwax.
The creation of GENE came after a search for an alternative to the structure and rigour of standard drum machines. Its unique rhythmic patterns are the focal point for the album, which is coloured by lush, pastoral tones, paired with the influence of his environmental changes.
