Isle of Wight native Lauran Hibberd and her slacker pop rampage hits full throttle with the release of explosive new cut ‘Boy Bye’, out now.
Brandishing her boldest release to date and hurtling towards the forefront of the emerging indie elite, Hibberd explained “‘Boy Bye’ IS co-dependency, it has a scarily obsessive nature about it and is based on the need to ‘feed’ someone to keep them around.
“I sort of battle with myself throughout the whole track, the same way you would in your brain when stuff like this happens and you try and justify it to yourself. There’s an odd strength in it though, and I think it’s noticing it and being able to say it out loud that gives it that balls to the wall sort of ‘get lost’ momentum.”

‘Boy Bye’ exudeds her trademark satirical and anthemic tendencies, whilst providing a clear indication of what to expect from her next batch of material.
With a constantly growing list of achievements, the indie sensation’s profile is certainly developing an impressive rate, with a slew of acclaim across the BBC Radio 1 airwaves following recent singles ‘Old Nudes’ and ‘Bang Bang Bang’, not to mention universal backing throughout the tastemaker community and thrilling support tours alongside US contemporaries Hippo Campus and The Regrettes.
Lauren Hibberd’s forthcoming new EP follows on from last year’s Everything Is Dogs, and builds upon the distinctive dry wit that the release carved out. It was produced by Suzy Shinn – the eclectic LA-based producer whose credits span from Weezer, Fall Out Boy and Panic! At the Disco to the heady pop heights of Dua Lipa and Katy Perry – in lockdown for a transatlantic recording partnership.
