Los Unidades have launched their Global Citizen charity EP’s with the record’s lead track, ‘E-Lo’.
The song features Los Unidades – who may or may not be Coldplay – Pharrell Williams and Jozzy and is accompanied by a Nelson Mandela inspired lyric video to mark what would have been the South African leader’s centenary year.
Proceeds of the EP will support Global Citizen’s campaigns and advocacy efforts to end extreme poverty as well as its work in areas such as gender equality, education, water and sanitation.
Listen to ‘E-Lo (feat. Jozzy)’ by Los Unidades and Pharrell Williams on the Shoot Music New Releases Playlist on Spotify.
The project has been spearheaded by Coldplay’s Chris Martin, the curator of Global Citizen’s annual live music festivals.
‘Global Citizen EP 1’, an EP of four brand new tracks, has been released through Parlophone Records (and Atlantic Records in the US).
Other tracks on the EP features artists including Stormzy, David Guetta, Stargate, Cassper Nyovest, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and more.
Since the first Global Citizen Festival in New York in 2012, Global Citizen has grown into one of the largest, most visible platforms for young people around the world, calling on world leaders to honour their responsibilities in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and ending extreme poverty by 2030.
