Having once been long-term Premier League regulars, Leeds are currently competing in their ninth consecutive season in the Championship, and their 15th away from the top tier, which they last competed in during the 2006-07 season.
Before the Whites relegation from the Premier League at the end of 2003-04 season, they had competed in every season since the start of its inaugural season in 1992-93. This period saw extended success for United, as, hot off their 1991-92 title win, they fought their way to five consecutive top 5 finishes between 1998 and 2002, as well as a UEFA Cup semi-final. However, by far in a way the club’s biggest achievement during this era was to reach the 2001 Champions League semi-final, which they were defeated in by Valencia.
A bout of financial woes plagued the West Yorkshire team from then onwards, and they were playing in the third tier of English football, League One, just six years later in 2007.
You can help inspire the Whites to do just that by following the Leeds United Fan Playlist!
