Martine McCutcheon Ends Exile With ‘Say I’m Not Alone’

After 17 years away from the music scene, Martin McCutcheon returns with her new single, ‘Say I’m Not Alone’,  available now on the Shoot New Release Playlist!

Released on July 7th, the track is the anthemic lead single to the former EastEnders and Love Actually star’s fourth studio album, ‘Lost and Found’, out August 11th on BMG.

A big, bold, brash song which merges clanging guitars, thumping drums and a hard-hitting lyric, ‘Say I’m Not Alone’ is like nothing Martine has ever recorded before.

Now 41, happily married and the mother of a two-year-old, one of the nation’s original sweethearts has never sounded better.

Armed with songs co-written with her husband, the multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Jack McManus, other highlights on this deeply personal album include the rocky ‘Any Sign Of Life’, the beautiful ‘Stay With Me’ (which is a duet with Jack), a cover of ‘Every Breath You Take’ and album closer ‘Rebellion’.

On her long-awaited comeback, Martine, who boasts a Number 1 single with ‘Perfect Moment’ and platinum-selling album ‘You, Me & Us’, explained: “Life brought this album about very gradually.

“It was a really unconscious thing; I started writing the songs at a time in my life when I’d lost everything.

“I hadn’t sung at all, even at home, for so long. I just found it too painful.

“I’m always so nervous no matter what I do, but I went on [at a chance charity concert] and sang some songs with Jack and came off euphoric.”
