Mat Kerekes – best known as the lead vocalist of the cult alt rock band Citizen – has shared his new single ‘Diamonds’.
The track is the second single to be taken from the Ohio-based singer songwriter’s upcoming solo album Ruby after the title track was released in December.
Mixing the intimate with the anthemic, ‘Diamonds’ transcends the lo-fi, acoustic-based recording style of his previous solo releases in favour of a sharper pop edge that offers a modern take on timeless rock sonics.

‘Diamonds’ is accompanied by a surreal music video directed by Johnny Chew (Rainbow Kitten Surprise, The Bronx).
The album Ruby will find Kerekes showcasing his versatility as a singer-songwriter. Incorporating elements of pop and alternative, it boasts massive choruses, dynamic arrangements and infectious melodies.
