Maverick Sabre returns with a cinematic short film for emotive new single ‘Drifting’.
The self-produced track is the first offering from his socially charged third album, set for release in Spring 2019.
Since firing into the UK music scene seven years ago with his #2 charting debut album ‘Lonely Are The Brave’, Mav has steadily built himself a revered reputation not only as a respected artist, but as also an intricate storyteller, a bold spokesperson and a gifted songwriter, working closely with BRITS Critics Choice winner Jorja Smith.

His unmistakable vocal, gravelly undertones and ability to depict and deliver powerful messages through his music ring true with the vision for ‘Drifting’, with the visual acting as ‘scene one’ as part of an overarching narrative which will unravel the different topics and themes woven within the new record.
On his latest track, Mav says, “I wrote the song ‘Drifting’ to numerous different visuals (music videos/film) that I was inspired by at the time from Kendrick Lamar‘s
Khalil Joseph Documentary through to La Haine.
“That’s why it’s has this cinematic feel within the music alone before we even created the film. I was brought up in Ireland and Irish cinema has always grabbed me, so we wanted to carry that on through this as well and make sure it was captured as beautifully as possible.
“The aim is to tell as many different untold Irish stories within a grander film. ‘Drifting’ is Scene One”
The Irish born-now-London based artist continues to evoke emotion and depth through each piece of music and the new record see’s Mav critique the world around him with a shrewd eye, exploring faith, society, relationships, hope, hurt and much more.
