Morrissey shares latest track from ‘I Am Not A Dog On A Chain’ album

Morrissey has released new track ‘Knockabout World’, the third to be taken from his new album, due next month.

The song opens with Morrissey’s immediately captivating vocals singing “Congratulations – you have survived, Congratulations – you’re still alive!” filling the track with melodrama.

It’s a catchy three minute song featuring synth riffs, twinkling electronics and jangling guitars which build to an orchestra of lush euphoric strings.

Morrissey’s 13th Solo Album and second studio album for BMG Records, I Am Not A Dog On A Chain, is set to be released on March 20. It follows last year’s covers album California Son, which entered the UK charts at #4.

The album was produced by Grammy award winning producer Joe Chiccarelli (Beck, Tori Amos, The Strokes, The Killers, The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, etc), and recorded at Studio La Fabrique in Saint- Rémy de Provence, France, and Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California.

It’s first single, ‘Bobby Don’t You Think They Know?’, featuring backing vocals by legendary R+B Icon Thelma Houston and second single ‘Love Is On Its Way Out’ released to great critical and fan response.

“I have now produced four studio albums for Morrissey,” said Chicarelli. “This is his boldest and most adventurous album yet.

“He has pushed the boundaries yet again – both musically and lyrically. And once again proving that as a songwriter and singer, he is in his own category.”
