As the Women’s game continues to grow year on year – with record viewing and attendances figures being recorded at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France – England are at the forefront of that rise in popularity in both the national and domestic game.
Coached by Phil Neville, the Lionesses are one of the favourites to win their first World Cup this year and have enjoyed a flawless run in the Group Stage of the competition. Victories against Scotland, Argentina and two-time winners Japan saw them seal their place in the knockout stages. They saw off Cameroon in the Round of 16 and dispatched Norway 3-0 in the Quarter-finals to set up today’s Semi-final with defending champions the USA.
Captained by Manchester City stalwart Steph Houghton, they will be looking to the likes of Lucy Bronze, Nikita Parris, Toni Duggan, Ellen White and Frank Kirby among others to maintain their form as they look to at least equal, if not better, their run to the Semi-Final in 2014.
The Official Lionesses playlist features some of the biggest female artists and the latest hot tunes as chosen by Shoot Music, along with tracks picked by members of the England Women’s squad playing in the FIFA Women’s World Cup this summer.
