Ramz follows up Brit Award nomination with ‘Hold You Down’ single

Hot on the heels of Ramz’s ‘Barking’ being nominated for ‘British Single Of The Year’ at the 2019 Brit Awards, the record-breaking British rapper has released new single ‘Hold You Down’ via Polydor Records.

A little over a year ago Ramone Rochester was studying Sports Development at university and looking for a quick way out via retail. Then he dropped his debut single, ‘Barking’ and it all changed.

Addressing affairs of the heart, ‘Hold You Down’ is a feel-good anthem dedicated to his “one in the million girl”. On his latest single, Ramz said “This track is about me being in love with a girl. When you find the right girl, hold her down.”

Having amassed over 145 million global streams on the track and 50 million views on the video, the Certified Platinum ‘Barking’ was the most streamed UK Urban track of 2018, the most viewed video of all time on GRM Daily and included in Spotify’s ‘UK Top tracks of 2018’ and Capital Xtra’s ‘Best Grime & UK Hip Hop Songs Of 2018’.

This followed it reaching #1 on Apple Music UK, #1 on Spotify UK (a world first for a debut single from an artist), #2 on the UK Official Singles chart (crowning Ramz as the highest charting British urban artist since 2015) and a #1 streaming hit in Germany.

The Fraser T Smith produced follow-up single, entitled ‘Family Tree’, is now Certified Silver in the UK having amassed over 27 million streams, ensuring Ramz has now amassed over 250 million streams, 13.5 million monthly listeners and two million record sales to date over the course of just two single releases.
