Ramz shares ‘Sunday’, the first track to be lifted from his forthcoming Blockbuster EP due for release on May 17.
Drawing on a broad spectrum of musical influences and featuring a variety of carefully selected guest artists, the Blockbuster EP documents Ramz’s journey to date, while showcasing his versatility as an artist.
“The word ‘Block’ refers to where I’ve come from, while ‘Buster’ is a nod to the fact I’ve done so many things I thought I’d only dream of doing.” says Ramz. “My life felt like a movie in 2018… I couldn’t even begin to put it all into words, until now. I’m from Mitcham, a little talked about South London suburb, and I know I wasn’t doing this just for myself, but also for people like me, from my hometown.”
Listen to ‘Sunday’ by Ramz on the Official Fantasy Premier League playlist on Spotify.
A little over a year ago Ramone Rochester (aka Ramz) was studying Sports Development at university and working at Sainsbury’s. Then he dropped his debut single, ‘Barking’ and it all changed.
Having amassed over 280 million global streams and 58 million video views, Ramz’s Certified Platinum and Brits 2019 nominated ‘Barking’, was the most streamed UK Urban track of 2018, the most viewed video of all time on GRM Daily and included in Spotify’s ‘UK Top tracks of 2018’ and Capital Xtra’s ‘Best Grime & UK Hip Hop Songs Of 2018’.
This followed it reaching #1 on Apple Music UK, #1 on Spotify UK (a world first for a debut single from an artist), #2 on the UK Official Singles chart (crowning Ramz as the highest charting British urban artist since 2015) and a #1 streaming hit in Germany.
