Redfaces are fast becoming one of the most exciting new bands in the country. This Sheffield-based four piece, since signing with Sony last year, have been playing relentlessly up north, gaining a fervent fanbase that sees them, off the back of one low-key single, playing to packed 500 capacity venues. Listen to the new single ‘Wise Up‘ now on the Shoot New Release Playlist!
The band have been in the studio with Richard Archer of Hard-Fi working on their debut album.
RedFaces are Harry Lyon, Isaac White, Charlie Yapp and Ryan Laycock. Four lads from Sheffield treading what was once a well-worn path, these days the road less travelled. The journey started at 2Fly studios in Sheffield, recording demos with Alan Smyth, the man behind the Arctic Monkey’s first ventures.
Out of these sessions came the band’s first release ‘Katie Come Home’ in early 2015 – championed by BBC Introducing it also attracted the attention of the London A&R fraternity. An early gig in Sheffield saw representatives from every major label through the door.
‘Wise Up’ was premiered by Huw Stephens on his BBC Radio 1 show. It follows debut single ‘Kerosene’, released last year. Said the NME of Redfaces: “the swagger of Kasabian and the cheek of early Arctic Monkeys”.
This summer the band are playing a handful of festival dates, including Communion Festival in London’s Finsbury Park with Catfish & The Bottlemen. All dates are below:
