We’re back with our weekly Stadium Music Chart, representing the most popular new releases playing out across the nation’s Football Grounds and Sport Stadiums, compiled using official Shoot Music DJ download data. It’s finally here. Today marks the start of the Premier League 2021/22 campaign, and it’s Brentford’s Shane Lee who will be the first matchday DJ to get stadium music pumping this season, ahead of their clash with Arsenal at the Brentford Community Stadium this evening. Let’s go!

Top Four

After weeks of Celeste standing tall at the top of the podium, it’s taken a big one to finally knock her off. Walsall supporter Becky Hill, with the aid of superstar DJ & producer David Guetta have finally achieved this with ‘Remember’. Becky’s typically superb vocals combined with Guetta’s crystal clear production have claimed the most DJ downloads as we head into game week 1 of the premier league season. Their downloads have come from the likes of Celtic, Manchester United & more in and around the top 4 English leagues.

Becky has explained to us that her whole career has essentially built up to this very moment. She says “I have a sure-fire single with David Guetta, and an album I’ve spent my whole adult life making finally coming out. I’ve grafted and strived to reach this milestone for a few years now, and my patience has definitely been tested! But it’s been worth the wait, as my creativity and vision for the album has now come to full fruition.”

Joining Becky (2nd most-streamed British Female Solo Artist of 2020 Spotify UK)), we have a new entry in the form of a huge emerging hip-hop star, who has proven doubters wrong and shown his versatility in multiple creative fields. KSI along with award-winning producer and co-writer Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, Paloma Faith, One Direction), have constructed a certified summer anthem in the form of “Holiday”. Utilising his work ethic and infectious energy which YouTube instilled in him, KSI has landed himself 3rd spot this week, sending James Arthur‘s ‘September’ outside of the top four.

Mid-Table

The most notable movement around mid-table this week would have to be the continuous rise of Dave with his single, ‘Clash’. His collaboration alongside fellow Utd fan, Stormzy, has seen the track ascend from 13th all the way upto 8th. Dave deserves all the plaudits for this one, but you cannot overlook Stormzy’s contribution to the cause. The Glastonbury headliner, multi platinum artist and Mercury Prize nominee‘s bars are smooth as anything and perfectly compliment Dave’s vocal. Surrounded by an organic piano swiftly changing octaves, and the tight yet punchy beat, everything sounds super clean across the mix. As red devils, we’re sure these guys are over the moon to get airplay at Old Trafford, but recognition from DJs at Liverpool and Wigan Athletic make sure this one receives the exposure it deserves.

Best Of The Rest

Toward the lower levels we have the likes of Sam Fender, Self Esteem & The Lathums all keeping their places in the 20, yet there’s a fresh look to this portion of the chart with two…yes, two new entrees. We start with a group of torch-carriers for British guitar music in this modern era, The Vaccines with their new single ‘Alone Star’, taken from their upcoming fifth album, ‘Back In Love City’. Justin & Co have slotted straight in at 18th, set to hear their track played at stadiums home to the likes of Falkirk, Hartlepool & Braintree.

Also making their Stadium Chart debut this week, we have the wonderful Raye with her tune ‘Call On Me’. Co-written by Raye and produced by Billen Ted, ‘Call On Me’ is another sure-fire smash hit pop/dance banger that fans of RAYE’s first class song writing are sure to devour this Summer. Now one of the Top 130 most streamed artists in the world on Spotify with over 22 million monthly listeners, Raye is set to have ‘Call On Me’ played to fans at Manchester United and Stoke City this weekend. Old Trafford’s resident DJ even dropped by with a nice complement, adding; “Raye’s voice lends itself so well to this record!” No denying that, she’s a special talent we’re sure we’ll continue to see for years to come.
