Get set for every home game at the Stadium of Light during the 2019-20 League One season by following Sunderland AFC on Apple Music.

Arguably one of the biggest teams in the North East of England, Sunderland boasted one of the best records among teams that played in the top flight of English football pre-WWII, winning six top flight titles between 1892-1936.

They have also lifted the FA Cup twice in their history, most notably in 1973 as they became the first Second Division side in over 30 years to win the trophy in a nail-biting 1-0 victory over defending champions Leeds United.

Success has unfortunately been few and far between recently, after relegation from the Premier League to League One in the past few years. With the Wearside club narrowly missed out on promotion back to the Championship in the League One Play-off final last season, they will be even more determined to bounce back from that heartbreak in manager Jack Ross‘ second season in charge.

With renewed expectation in the city for the 2019-20 season, Black Cats supporters now have the chance to get themselves in the zone ahead of overy one of their side’s games at the Stadium of Light by following Sunderland’s Official Playlists and profile on Apple Music.

Along with playlists picked by Ross and some of the players including Dylan McGeouch and Lynden Gooch, fans are also able to listen back to the “Sounds of the SoL” playlists, which feature all the songs played at the Stadium of Light on that particular matchday.

The matchday playlists and accompanying graphics on social media are curated and hand designed by the Stadium of Light’s matchday DJ and announcer Frankie Francis, better known by many as the frontman of Sunderland-based indie rock group Frankie and the Heartstrings.

Ahead of each match, Frankie puts together the playlist showcasing local artists, fan favourite tunes, track choices from the players and a selection of the best new song from the world’s biggest artists, courtesy of Shoot Music

Make sure to follow and check the Stadium of Light twitter account on the morning of every home match to find out which songs will be played later that day pre-game and during half time in the ground.

Sport Playlists bring you the best sport music playlists, all in one place, easy to follow on sharable platforms. Listen now, and don’t forget to follow this playlist on Apple Music.
