As things begin to heat up in anticipation of Super Bowl 51 on Feb 5th, where the New England Patriots will face the Atlanta Falcons at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, we begin our Shoot Super Bowl LI playoff countdown. This is where we focus on some of the recent music-related NFL stories we’ve covered for our friends over at NFL UK (view the Shoot/NFL page here).
First up is our Q&A with Kings of Leon drummer and general sports nut Nathan Followill, where he briefly discusses his predictions for the matchup in just over a week’s time. Since this Q&A was conducted late last year, this could be quite a pick if his prediction comes true,
Super Bowl 51 pits the AFC’s perennial winner (Patriots) against an NFC organization making only its second Super Bowl appearance (Falcons). This will be New England’s seventh Super Bowl appearance in 16 years, and Atlanta’s first since the 1998 season.
Be sure to tune in and let us know if this proves to be the case, and you can find Kings of Leon on our NFL UK playlist. Featuring a selection of stadium anthems, player favourites and new music, it’s perfect for getting in the spirit of what looks to be an epic matchup.
