Celebrate the start of domestic Rugby League’s biggest competition this weekend by following the Official Betfred Super League Music Playlist on Spotify.
With the Super 8’s section of the competition having been shelved after the 2018 campaign, this weekend marks #NewBeginnings for the Twelve teams in this year’s Super League. They will now compete over 29 rounds – including the Dacia Magic Weekend at Anfield on May 25 and 26 – for the right to reach the new five-team Play-off bracket at the end of the season.
The two winners of the Major Semi Final and Preliminary Final will head to the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford on October 12, to crown the 2019 Champions.
2018 holders Wigan Warriors begun the defence of their title in the opening game of the competition last night (January 31), however they were beaten 22-12 at fierce rivals St Helens.
Alongside last night’s two competitors, Castleford Tigers, Catalans Dragons, Huddersfield Giants, Hull FC, Hull KR, Leeds Rhinos, newcomers London Broncos, Salford Red Devils, Wakefield Trinity and Warrington Wolves will all be vying for a much coveted berth in the Play-offs.
