Super League Music: New playlist soundtracks Round 16

After a fantastic Magic Weekend of Rugby at Newcastle’s St James’ Park, the action returns to normal in Round 16, which will be soundtracked by a new-look Super League Music playlist.

A host of new releases, including The Kooks’ ‘No Pressure’ and ‘All The Time’, plus tracks by Krystal Klear, Arctic Monkeys, Pharrell Williams x Camila Cabello, Tom Grennan and more make up the latest additions to the playlist, which is available on Spotify and Deezer.

Round 16 kicks off on May 24 with last year’s losing Grand Finalists Castleford Tigers taking on leaders St Helens, before third placed Warrington Wolves host fourth placed Hull FC on Friday night in just two of the intriguing matches to take place over the next fortnight.

Super League Music is a groundbreaking music promotion, combining the music playlist for each fixture, updated every two weeks with 10 new releases and pushed across social media every matchday with a branded graphic.

Reigning champions Leeds Rhinos, along with Hull FC, Huddersfield Giants, Warrington Wolves, Wigan Warriors, St Helens, Catalan Dragons, Castleford Tigers, Widnes Vikings, Wakefield Wildcats, Salford Red Devils and Hull KR are battling it out to reach the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford on October 13.

Kicking off in 1996, Super League is the top-level professional rugby league club competition in the Northern hemisphere. Involving 11 teams from England and one from France (Catalan Dragons), it replaced the RFL Championship and switched from a winter to a summer season.

After 23 games, the top-eight play each other once more, after which the top four enter the play-off series which leads to the Grand Final. The bottom four teams go on to play the top four Championship teams in The Qualifiers to determine who will play in Super League the following season.
