Grammy nominated, trio Mansionair return with new single ‘Violet City’, released via Glassnote Records – and you can listen to it now on the Shoot Music – New Releases playlist.

‘Violet City’ is reminiscent of left-of-centre UK acts such as Wild Beasts and Alt-J, blurring the lines between electronic stylings and traditional pop structures but with added cinematic and expansive production.

Sydney based Mansionair were born when multi-instrumentalist & producer Lachlan Bostock joined with folk singer Jack Froggatt and jazz drummer Alex Nicholls to collaborate on ‘Hold Me Down’ – the chemistry between the trio was instant and ‘Hold Me Down’ hit one million views in just two months.

At the tail end of 2016, Mansionair released bristling track ‘Easier’, which has now reached over 12 million streams, a testament to the fanbase they’ve created in such a short period of time.

While working on their latest offering, the band collaborated with Seattle duo ODESZA on their lead single ‘Line Of Sight’, which has since climbed Billboard’s Alternative and Dance/Electronic charts and was nominated for a Grammy.

Following support tours with London Grammar, CHVRCHΞS and alt-J, the band announce a headline date at London’s Moth Club (May 16), as well as a performance at The Great Escape Festival.
