Edinburgh-born DJ Theo Kottis drops feel-good track ‘Turning Around’

Acclaimed Edinburgh-born, London-based house producer and DJ, Theo Kottis, releases the brilliantly uplifting and feel-good ‘Turning Around’ – a strong contender for this summer’s big festival track – out on Skint.

‘Turning Around’ shows why Theo Kottis is regarded as one of house music’s most exciting and innovative artists.

With ‘Turning Around’, Theo cleverly deploys the brass fanfares and lyrics from Astrud Gilberto’s seminal soul track, ‘Black Magic’, turning it into a shimmering, energetic disco workout which is set to make a huge impact on festival and club dancefloors this summer.

‘Turning Around’ received a rapturous response when Theo played it in his recent Boiler Room set from FLY Open Air in late May. Early ‘Turning Around’ supporters include Detroit Swindle, Dan Shake, Horse Meat Disco, Adam Port, Panthera Krause, Jacques Renault, Folamour, Ryan Elliott, and Monki.

Theo Kottis has established himself as one of the UK’s most versatile artists. Kottis started as a promoter in Edinburgh whilst still in his late teens, before subsequently turning to DJing.

He has since held down residencies at Glasgow’s Sub Club and FLY Club at Edinburgh’s Cabaret Voltaire. The shining star amongst his work is his ‘Beautiful Strangers’ concept, with Kottis has successfully built a brand from this, curating his own Beautiful Strangers Festival alongside Fly Open Air.
