Introducing YONAKA With ‘Wouldn’t Wanna Be Ya’

Introducing YONAKA – a Brighton-based four piece who have this week unveiled their new track Wouldn’t Wanna Be Ya. Listen to the new single now on the Shoot New Release Playlist!

YONAKA’s exhilarating new track ‘Wouldn’t Wanna Be Ya’ is the perfect introduction to the quartets’ adrenaline-charged, heavyweight sound. Produced by Ross Orton (Arctic Monkeys), the new single showcases YONAKA’s knack for moulding thunderous riffs, soaring hooks and unparalleled, towering vocals.

Having cut their teeth on tour with the likes of Drenge and, most recently, Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes, which saw the band perform at London’s KOKO last month, YONAKA are fast becoming one of the most exciting new names on the UK’s live circuit.

The band will be charging headlong at the UK festival scene this summer with appearances at The Great Escape, Reading & Leeds, Download, Dot to Dot and many more. Moreover, they are currently in the midst of a 16-date UK headline tour, which concludes at London’s Sebright Arms on June 7.

Recently signing to Asylum Records, the band independently released their tracks ‘Ignorance’ and ‘Drongo’ last year, seeing them land specialist radio support from the likes of Annie Mac and Dan P Carter, following with a slot on the BBC Introducing Stage at last year’s Radio 1 Big Weekend.

Prepare to hear word spread about one of the UK’s most exciting alt-rock acts of 2017!
