Zuzu – one of the most exciting and unique artists to emerge from Liverpool over the past year – is back with her brand-new single, ‘How It Feels’.
She has quickly established herself that reputation thanks to her sharp brand of witty, self-aware indie-pop.
Zuzu describes her latest track as “about not giving up on relationships and aspirations, even when things seem to be falling apart. It’s about looking back at past mistakes, learning from them, and maybe even trying to set things right.”
Listen to ‘How It Feels’ by Zuzu on the Official Fantasy Premier League playlist on Spotify.
Working with producer Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Adele), ZUZU wrote ‘How It Feels’ with her guitarist Kurran in their Birkenhead studio, Monkey Heaven.
“The song came together really quickly,” she says. “We’d written and demoed it within two hours – and sometimes I find the ones I write the quickest turn out to be the ones that mean the most.”
Music isn’t Zuzu’s only obsession. She’s also an avid gamer, comic collector, Everton FC fan and Cartoon Network geek.
She’s also a vintage guitar nerd, played the Fender party on the first day of this year’s Great Escape Festival yesterday evening and has reviewed the Women’s World Cup Football Shirts for BBC Sport alongside fellow Liverpudlian, singer-songwriter and Fulham FC player Chelcee Grimes.
