Royal Blood have shared brand new single ‘Honeybrains’, their first new music since the release of their most recent chart topping record Typhoons last year.
The riff filled song arrives as they begin the UK leg of their packed 2022 touring schedule – which includes their largest headline show to date at The O2 in London – in support of their third studio album, featuring hit singles ‘Oblivion’, ‘Limbo’, ‘Trouble’s Coming’ and title track ‘Typhoons’.
On their latest single, the boys have said “Instead of sitting on new music, waiting for it to grow old, we thought it’d be fun to let you in on what we’ve been working on over the past few weeks before we head out on our biggest tour so far! It’s as new to us as it is to you. Crank it x”

The Brighton duo of Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher‘s most recent album Typhoons has elevated their status as one of the leading lights in the international rock scene. It debuted at #1 in the UK and Ireland and achieved a further seven Top 10 charts positions, including the USA, Australia and Canada.
When Mike and Ben sat down to talk about making a new album, they knew what they wanted to achieve. It involved a conscious return to their roots, back when they had made music that was influenced by Daft Punk, Justice, and Philippe Zdar of Cassius. It also called for a similar back-to-basics approach to what had made their self-titled debut album so thrilling, visceral and original.
“The more and more we developed it, we realised it was turning into this missing piece of the puzzle,” said Mike in an interview with NME. “It had a very dancefloor aspect to it, but there was something very reminiscent of where we began as a band as well. It was very simple, and we also enjoyed how brutal the arrangement was, nothing hangs around.”
