FEET

West Midlands indie group FEET return with ‘Can’t Get In’ single

FEET following up a triumphant, raucous return to the UK live scene this year with their brand new single ‘Can’t Get In’.

Released today via Submarine Cat Records, ‘Can’t Get In “explores the stages of fear and hope when trapped outside your safest space” explain the band. “That little dance with survival, that ultimately resolves itself with common sense.” It’s the first new material from the quintet since the release of last August’s Walking Machine EP, which solidified the band as one the UK’s hottest alternative-rock prospects.

FEET continue their journey, building on the support they have gathered from the likes of NME, The Independent, DIY Mag, The Line Of Best Fit, Dork Magazine, 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq & Radio 1’s Jack Saunders amongst others. Having spent 2022 on the road for a well-awaited headline tour, countless festival dates including All Points East and supporting The Rolling Stones, the band also hunkered down in the studio with Jon McMullen (Wet Leg, Michael Kiwanuka, Fenne Lily) to hone their new material.

Can’t Get In’ hints at a larger, incoming body of work from a regenerated FEET as they begin to set their stall out with their finest output to date. “There is something compelling that occurs when you spend three years living under the same roof, the five of us, sharing bedrooms, endlessly running into each other, compromising on almost everything” the band said.

“It’s been challenging and yet we have come away with our best music yet. The energy from this time has been channelled and directed into the band’s newest form, and into a sound that we feel reflects our dedication to making something raw, that truly represents us as people, an identity. It’s been an integral growing process and we feel as close to who we really are with this new music. ‘Can’t Get In’ will open doors to a slicker, bolder future for FEET, as a band, and we are so excited to share that with you.”

Formed at university in Coventry by singer George Haverson, bassist Oli Shasha and guitarists Callum Parker and Harry Southerton via a music society they soon outgrew along with the city’s nightlife, FEET are a group ready to fully emerge from the chrysalis of their developmental stages with an explosion of renewed energy, a new fire in the belly, ready to pursue their muse into the next chapter of what is sure to be a boisterous, visionary journey.
