Chilli Jesson shares the video for his new single ‘Icarus’, out now on Fiction Records.
As premiered by Steve Lemacq earlier this week, ‘Icarus’ is a cathartic, rebellious romp that channels common burning frustrations with the mundanity of everyday life. Brimming with attitude and contempt for just settling with your lot, the title pulls from the figure in Greek mythology who did not take sound advice from his peers and allowed his own hubris to be his downfall by flying too close to the sun.
It’s an upbeat, short, sharp burst of energy and one that Chilli’s sound is steadily becoming synonymous with. Having spent the summer playing bass for Fontaines D.C on the support tour with Arctic Monkeys across the US and Mexico, Chilli also performed at festivals including Y Not and Hardwick Live. This October he’ll play at SWN festival in Cardiff as well as supporting Corella on the upcoming sold out tour.

‘Icarus’ follows his reflective debut EP St. Vitamin in 2022, stand-alone single ‘Circles’ and latest EP Carolina Reaper which was released earlier this year.
With his run of releases in the last two years, Chilli has been on a mission to discover and showcase his true identity. In the aftermath of his life-changing experience as the key member of hugely successful British indie rockers Palma Violets, Chilli found himself at rock bottom.
