Get set for this weekend’s clash between Arsenal & Manchester City at Wembley Stadium with the official EFL Carabao Cup Final Playlist on Spotify
After six rounds of competition since last August, the champions of the EFL Cup – currently known as the Carabao Cup for sponsorship purposes – for the 2025/26 season will be crowned this weekend at the home of football, as the Premier League’s top two sides, Arsenal and Manchester City, face off to decide who will climb the stairs to the Royal Box at Wembley and hoist the trophy on Sunday 22nd March.
The game is a rematch of the 2018 final, which City won comfortably 3-0, with that game also being Arsenal’s last appearance in the final. The Gunners hold the record for the most runners-up appearances in the competition and will be looking to lift the trophy for the first time since 1993 this weekend. Mikel Arteta’s top flight leaders entered the competition in the Third Round, picking up wins against Port Vale, Brighton, a penalty shootout victory over Crystal Palace and a 4-2 aggregate win over Chelsea in the Semi-Final to book their place at Wembley.
Pep Guardiola’s City are making their eleventh appearance in the final this weekend and first since they won the competition for the ninth time five years ago. Like their opponents, City also entered the competition in the Third Round, notching up victories against Huddersfield, Swansea, Brentford and a 5-1 aggregate win against holders Newcastle in the Semi-Final to seal their spot in the final.
