Bay Area alt rockers Finish Ticket share 'Peace of Mind', a third taste of their upcoming sophomore album Echo Afternoon - out September 6 via Better Noise Music.
The dreamy and melodic track was written about the never-ending quest to find “peace of mind” as its lyrics relay: ‘Another life, another day; You’ll find peace of mind.’ The band have also shared a video visualiser for the track.
“‘Peace Of Mind’ is a song about all aspects of life feeling overwhelming at once,” says vocalist Brendan Hoye. “The feeling of being split between optimism and pessimism. Maybe one day after all is done, you’ll have peace of mind vs. the thought that maybe life is just always this way.”
Echo Afternoon was co-produced by the band – Brendan Hoye (vocals), Alex DiDonato (guitar), Gabe Stein (drums), and Ryan Blair (bass) – alongside Jim Kaufman (Helmet, Atlas Genius) and Michael Coleman (Chappel Roan, Sure Sure, Em Beihold). The album’s 12 tracks take listeners on an emotional roller coaster while showing the band at their most vulnerable as they narrate the struggles and anxiety of being stuck in limbo while trying to find an escape to a brighter future.

After creating a wave with sold-out shows across the Bay Area and their debut album Tears You Apart, Finish Ticket were picked up by Atlantic Records who released their EP When Night Becomes Day, along with making their debut late-night TV performance on “Late Night With Conan O’Brien.” In 2019, the band self-released their hit track ‘Dream Song’, which garnered over 4.1 million streams and saw the band embark on a successful headlining tour, selling out multiple venues across the country.
After spending the past three years writing and recording their second full-length album, Echo Afternoon, the quartet signed a record deal with Better Noise Music. This was supported by a US run with The Beaches followed by a summer long tour which included a performance at Lollapalooza and Arizona’s Innings Fest.
