Fred again.. has released, ‘scared’, with Young Thug, his first release of the year and the latest from his ever-evolving USB album.
Fred recently played the first two shows of his USB002 residency at New York’s East End Studios, joined by Romy and HAAi on Friday 16 January before welcoming Oppidan, Hamdi and BRUX on Saturday 17. Fred continued his residency this weekend just gone, with X3butterfly b3b Doctor Jeep b3b Sister Zo joining on Friday 23 and Caribou and BRUX also on the Saturday evening’s line-up.
Having taken over East End Studios for three weeks, yesterday Fred held a unique exhibition at the venue titled ‘Boris Acket – Secret Life Exhibition’ centred around the immersive Boris Acket installation which has become an integral part of Fred’s USB002 shows set to a reworked version of ‘Secret Life’ – Fred’s ambient collaboration with Brian Eno.

Last September, Fred kicked off the new era of his acclaimed USB series, revealing he would be releasing ten songs and playing ten shows in ten cities around the world across ten weeks. Tracks including ‘you’re a star’ with Amyl and the Sniffers, ‘Talk of the Town’ with Sammy Virji & Reggie, and ‘Beto’s Horns’ with CA7RIEL, Paco Amoroso & Ezra Collective were added to the ever-evolving album, with the USB002 vinyl arriving in December.
Fred’s USB album originally began in 2022, featuring tracks like ‘Baby Again’, ‘Rumble’ alongside Skrillex & Flowdan, ‘Jungle’, ‘leavemealone’ with Baby Keem and ‘stayinit’ with Lil Yachty, as well as remixes from Nia Archives, HAAi and Rico Nasty, before the first collection was released on vinyl as USB001 in 2024.
